Master Lock Review & Tax Tips to Get Organized for Next Year

I had a great opportunity to review the Master Lock 7148D Storage Security Box.

This box is perfect for storing all of your important documents and to file your tax papers throughout the year to keep organized and ready for next tax season. Measuring 6" (15.2cm) x 13-1/2" (34.3cm) x 10-1/2" (26.7cm)  it has ample space, can hold standard hanging file folders and locks for extra security. (It comes with two keys)

Here are some tips from Master Lock to help you get and stay organized:

1. Request electronic copies of your tax forms. Many employers offer employees the option to receive their W-2 forms electronically, instead of by mail. By eliminating the risk of postal delays or missed deliveries, this ensures that your W-2 will be delivered securely as soon as it is available. Plus, faster W-2s can mean faster tax returns.

2. Securely store documents online. Avoid the mess of a mound of paperwork by storing – and organizing – all of your tax-related documents online. By utilizing a free, secure service such as the Master Lock Vault (www.masterlockvault.com) you’ll have easy access to all of your files wherever you are and help ensure that none of your paper documents will ever be lost, misplaced, stolen or damaged. Not only can you upload PDF forms, but you can upload photos from your phone of important receipts and expenses for your records. All data is instantly synchronized between the website and the App.  Bonus: securely store log-in information for your bank accounts and tax filing site in the Vault so you’ll never have to worry about forgetting your username or password.

3. Think taxes year-round. Don’t wait until you’re ready to file your taxes to start collecting and organizing the supporting documents you’ll need to complete your return. Avoid the scramble by capturing and uploading a digital image of your receipt each time you pay the babysitter or have a tax deductible transaction, fill a prescription at the pharmacy, or make a charitable contribution such as dropping off a clothing donation to your local thrift store.

4. Opt for direct deposit. If you’ve done everything else online, why request a hard-copy check when it comes time to claim your refund? When combined with electronic filing, direct deposit is the fastest way to get your refund. If you’re on the other side of the spectrum and find that you owe taxes, opt to pay online and you can avoid the long tax-season lines at the post office.

5. Call for help. Sometimes, outside advice is necessary, and you can now get the help you need without leaving home. Based on the complexity of your question, there are a variety of resources to turn to. For example, the IRS offers a toll-free hotline for tax questions during weekdays. Several tax-prep software providers also offer guidance via online forums or on their social media feeds.

Food Lovers Fat Loss System Giveaway

Back in February I posted about an opportunity I had gotten to try out the Food Lovers Fat Loss System. I wanted to give it awhile before I posted the giveaway because I wanted to be able to share my experience with it and with something like a diet plan, you definitely need a good amount of time to find out the ins and outs and if it is something that works. In a nut shell, it does.
I like that you are never hungry because you are always eating. Food Lovers does not allow you to get hungry. This also helps ward off cravings, minimizing the risk of eating something  that is going to pile on the calories. I have lost about ten pounds and I'm super excited about it! I have not exercised like I wanted to, or it may have been more. I also did not do one big thing that is considered a big no-no. I did not take my measurements or before pics. I did keep a food diary, but so far have not used the one from the kit because I'm keeping track of more than just what I eat. I am prone to bad anxiety and arthritis. I am keeping a notebook to keep track of those things along with what I eat.
The biggest plus for me (besides not being hungry) is that Food Lovers is adaptable to many other diet plans. If you are diabetic, vegan, or are keeping track of possible trigger foods such as gluten (like me) you can still be successful.
Okay, so now you are probably wondering what about drawbacks? There is only one. Be sure to go over the materials and go food shopping before you start. You want to make sure you have enough food on hand so that you will not be skipping meals or snacks. Easy enough, right?!
